The first in a series about a showbiz family building a new town from ground up, all while filming it on reality television.
In this book, we see the oldest sibling Dean Judson who acts as CEO of the venture. He is known as the fixer and is used to being in charge. Vanessa Vincent is hired as the CFO. She relocates to live on set and works closely with Dean to run the project. Vanessa ticks all the boxes, with the bonus of having no interest in the mating theme of the reality show. She just wants to disappear into the spreadsheets and has her own vulnerabilities to deal with.
But neither Dean nor Vanessa counts on the chemistry between them, and the saboteur on set added to the mix!
Book review
It’s such an awesome idea! Building up a town from scratch, which involves populating the town and interviewing people to fill certain roles within the town, all under reality television even. You can already sense the wonderful stories that will come up after this book, as more and more characters get added on and interact with each other.
I loved the characters and the camaraderie among the siblings. It was also great to have the siblings each playing a different role in the building of the town. The personalities of the characters, as well as the challenges they face, were all very relatable.
The story was well paced and covers a mix of mystery, romance and dealing with personal growth, which makes the plot very well rounded and exciting to follow.
I am certainly looking forward to reading the other stories in the series, which feature the siblings each finding their own love story.
