Rediscovering creativity: The Artist’s Way

By Julia Cameron

I recently came across an Instagram post of someone going through this 12-week course on unblocking your creativity. The idea of such a self-guided course intrigued me (maybe I miss my school days), and I spent the day looking up on this and checking out other people’s experiences with this course.

What I found seemed to be really positive. I also borrowed an e-book from the library and after the first few pages, was sold on it.

This book is not just for artists. The premise is that everyone is born to create, and we all have an inner artist that has never been nurtured properly. Through this course, it is supposed to help us open our minds and look deep within ourselves for that thread of creativity. It is also a matter of discipline and showing up.

I’ve ordered a physical copy of the book and can’t wait for it to arrive. In the meantime, I’m on day 4 of my morning pages – one of the things to be disciplined about, and still hanging in there.

Will keep you all posted on my progress and if any of you have tried this course too, I’d love to hear about your experience!
